Products and Services
Britcanada.com is a 'full-service' travel agency. Our focus is on travel
to UK and Ireland, but it doesn't end there. Based in Western Canada,
I (Bob) realize that the 'Sun Destinations' are important to Canadians,
especially in winter! To this end, I am maintaining and extending my
knowledge of the Caribbean islands, Mexico, etc. I recently
took the
destination specialist course on Mexico, for example. I have been to
Cuba, Dominican Republic and Mexico for winter escapes, myself. It's
nice to thaw out for a week! These sun breaks are not, however, the
same as the 'experience' you get by visiting places like UK and Ireland.
I like to see the UK and Ireland experience as an investment in your
mind, body and soul! Not to mention that it can be a lot of fun, too!
My expertise on cruises, destination weddings, etc. is not the greatest
but at Vacations International we have people who are experts in these,
and other, fields. One lass specializes in wine tours (bless her soul
and
her liver!) and she is probably the best in Canada at this. I can call
on
any of these specialists to help you at any time. I'm not a golfer.
However,
I have a contact who is, again, one of the best around. He
lives only 20
minutes from me, yet I had to go to Wales to meet him! We were both
there as guests of VisitWales. I am not afraid to use the services of
these
people if they can serve you, my clients better than I. If you are
interested
in gardens, I have a contact in Edmonton who is awesome when it comes
to knowledge of gardens in UK, Ireland and other places.
At Britcanada.com you are the one who is important. If you are well
served, be it by myself or one of my friends, you will come
back and bring
your friends with you. It's a win/win situation.
Some of the product....
* Flights, hotels, packages, car rentals...the usual stuff! I have
access to all the well-known tour companies, etc.,
as well as
some that I access from UK and Ireland that most
travel
agencies don't know about. Most of these you can
access through
the 'booking engine' or self-service page. I
suggest that you do your
research through the booking engine without
actually booking. When
you have checked things out, give me a call so
that I can confirm
that you have all that you need and are getting
the best available
price. Then you can go ahead and DIY if that's
what you like to do.
Just two quick words about booking
travel yourself online. "If you
do it yourself, you have only yourself to fall
back on if things go wrong."
The other thing many people don't know is that the
people who save
most from online booking are the companies that
sell the product. They
don't have to commission you! If you book through
a travel agent, you
have their backing, pay the same price (sometimes
less!) and they get
the commission. That way, the travel
agent gets to make a living and
the tour company, of course, still makes their
bit, too.
* Travel Insurance. "Don't leave home without it!" I use two
travel
insurance companies that are well-known, reliable
and reasonably
priced. Royal Bank Insurance and Travelguard. If
you think you are
adequately covered by you credit card or whatever,
I can check it
out for you as some are better than others. Some
don't actually cover
you for very much, though they seem to indicate
that they do. Some
give the impression that you are covered when you
really have nothing
unless you pay extra for it. Be careful!
* Cruises, escorted and self-drive/self-guided tours, adventure tours,
etc.
are all within my product range.
* Extras. You will find a page on my site titled 'Extras' where there
are
links to suppliers of travel clothing and things
like that. Please feel free
to browse them. I get a small commission from
these sites that might
help pay for maintenance of this website if you
use them enough!
* Information. There are also links on the 'Extras' page to
informative
sites that I suggest you might want to check out.
E.G. Information on
your 'passenger rights' with airlines.
